Pissed that you are not getting the gigs you think should?
Here is our Guide to Gigability.
Frustrated about not getting gigs after signing up with Pushworth?
We get it.
So let’s break it down……..
Why We Do What We Do
At Pushworth, we’re all about building gigability into your music brand. Our team is laser-focused on helping you not only rock the stage but also build an online presence that packs a punch. We work with artists who have a solid crew—a producer, manager, publicist, social media guru—the whole nine yards. Why? Because we know that a well-oiled team behind you means bigger opportunities ahead.
And we’re not just talking about it. Our mission goes beyond the hashtag #musicmeansbusiness. We’ve created a resource catalog that every artist can tap into. Leveling up your gig game helps everyone—venues, markets, the industry, and, most importantly, your audience. That’s why we do what we do: to make venues a destination where people want to be.
The Process
So, you’ve reached out for gigs. The first step? You pitch your act to us. After that, we might invite you to onboard. Once that’s done, your gig offer—your pitch—gets added to our Submission Hub, where it’s visible to all the venues and clients we work with.
What Promoters Want to See in Your Pitch
Here’s the no-BS checklist of what venues expect when reviewing your pitch:
Vocals: We assess tunefulness, control, and stage prep. No iPads for lyrics—show us you’re pro and ready.
Musicianship: Know your instrument inside out. Nail the parts, rhythms, and harmonies.
Social Media: We’re looking for engagement, not just numbers. Links to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and a solid Linktree are a must.
Show Reel: This is your moment. Share clips of your top 3-4 songs, showing your act at its absolute best.
Spotify Playlist: 100 songs minimum. Cover the 70s to 2020s—bangers with fun twists that keep the crowd engaged and on the dance floor.
How We Evaluate Your Act
Here’s what we look for when we check out your live performances:
Reading the Room: Can you match your set, style, and vibe to the audience in front of you? It’s all about them, not what you think they want.
The Right Mix: Does each show feel like an event? Are you keeping things fresh with new material? Curate spontaneous moments that make the crowd come back for more.
Your Brand: In your pitch, tell us what makes you stand out. What’s your unique selling point? Your bio shouldn’t just say you’re the best in Queensland—show us what really sets you apart.
Tech-Savvy: More venues are demanding electronic drum kits, in-ear monitors, DIs, and db meters. Can you adapt?
Brand Consistency: Make sure your digital presence matches your on-stage persona. From your website to your stage lighting, everything should scream professional.
Social Engagement: If you’re throwing shade online about not getting gigs, maybe thats not the best look for your Music Brand. Keep it positive, keep it professional, and remember: we’re always watching.
Ready for Gigs?
If you’re truly a great act, we’ll book you. But if you’re still waiting, it might be time for some honest feedback. Ask your family and friends to review your act using this checklist. Tweak what needs fixing and resubmit your pitch. We’ll review it and gather feedback from our clients. If you’re ready to hit the stage, we’re here to make it happen.
Ultimately? It’s all on you. 😊
